Who am I?

Melissa and I at the wedding

I am a (let's see, 2008-1982 = 26) 26-year-old graduate student at the University of Maryland Astronomy Department. I grew up in Boring, MD (yes, really). I also did my undergraduate work at UMD in Math and Physics, where I met a lot of cool people. In November, 2007, I got married to my wonderful wife, Melissa. We had a blast at the wedding, and you can find pictures of it here.

When I'm not astronomizing, I enjoy virtually any competitive activity you can come up with, especially sports and games. My biggest hobby is bridge (the card game, not the thing that gets you from one side of the river to the other). I was lucky enough to make the USA Junior National Team in 2005 and got a free trip to Bangkok, Thailand to play. You can read all about it on my bridge page. When not doing that, you can find me playing on local rec sports teams, playing piano, or hanging out with friends. We currently reside in Columbia, MD in a townhouse with a college friend.
