BADMINTON CLUB RULES

these rules are to be clarified for the 2004/5 season shortly

You may not realize it, but this is a Badminton Club, a student run Sports Club, sponsored by the CRS, not a dropin-badminton.

You must be a member of this club to participate in these events. There are a few simple rules for members:

  1. Sign the CRS consent form.

  2. Fill out a membership form, and pay the $5/semester dues ($10/semester for Faculty/Alumni). You will also be placed on the majordomo email list, though we prefer if you do this yourself. Use the info on http://www.astro.umd.edu/badminton/email.html to subscribe and un-subscribe. You will get a membership card from one of the officers.

  3. Each time you play, fill out the activity form with your name clearly readable. At the end of the day the responsible clubmember can take this paper sheet and submit the electronic Sport Club Activity Report Form

  4. You do not own a court, even if you setup the net! When it is crowded or all the courts are full, a bulletin board with a signup sheet will be used. You must use your membership card to use the court, and you must rotate after 30 minutes and find a new open court.

If you have any questions, ask any of our friendly officers, or your faculty advisor:

Our webpage, with a lot more information and badminton links, can be found on http://www.astro.umd.edu/badminton . We also maintain a majordomo mail server, of which membership is required for each member.
