TRANSPORTATION
Via Taxi: SuperShuttle
offers door-to-door service from BWI. Make
arrangements for service at one of the SuperShuttle ticket counters
located on the lower level (near
Baggage Claim #1 - Southwest Airlines Terminal - Pier A OR Baggage Claim #10 Pier C).
To
arrange return service to BWI, reservations must be made at least 24
hours in advance by calling 1-800-BLUE-VAN (1-800-258-3826). Online
reservations are available from their website.

services as well as transportation to and from BWI using Amtrak or MARC
train
service.
FROM DULLES
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Via Taxi: Washington
Flyer
Taxicabs serve Dulles exclusively with 24 hour service to and from the
airport. A taxi from Dulles Airport to College Park will probably
run upwards of $70.00.
SuperShuttle
operates
door-to-door airport ground transportation from Dulles International. Online

Via METRO: Metrorail, the
region's rapid transit system stops adjacent to Terminals B and C.
Metrorail fare cards may be purchased from machines at either of two
Farecard plazas located on Level 2 near pedestrian bridges that lead
into and out of Terminals B and C. A third Farecard plaza for disabled
and other passengers using elevators, is under the Metrorail platform,
midway between the north and south mezzanines.
Get on the Yellow line (towards Gallery Place) and
transfer to
the
Green
line (towards Greenbelt) at L'Enfant
Plaza, and exit at the College
Park station. It is a short taxi ride from there to your hotel
destination. Click

BY TRAIN
Check the following links for train schedules for Amtrak
or the local commuter MARC
trains. The closest Amtrak stop is at New Carrollton. MARC
train
stops in College Park.
BY AUTOMOBILE 
From Baltimore and
Points North
Take I-95
south to
the Capital Beltway (I-495) toward College Park.
Take Exit 25 (US Route 1 South). Proceed about 1 mile
south on US Route 1. Turn right onto MD Route 193 West (University
Boulevard). At the third traffic light (Adelphi Road), make a U-turn
and turn right into the parking garage.
From
Annapolis
and
Points East
Take Route 50 to the Capital Beltway (I-495) toward College Park. Take
Exit 25 (U.S. Route 1 South). Proceed approximately 1
mile south on U.S. Route 1. Turn right onto Route 193 West (University
Boulevard). At the third traffic light (Adelphi Road), make a U-turn
and turn right into the parking garage.
From
Montgomery
County
and Points West
Take the Capital Beltway (I-495) toward College Park. Exit at New
Hampshire Avenue/Takoma Park (MD Route 650 South). At the second light,
turn left onto Adelphi Road. At the third light, make a left onto Route
193 East (University Boulevard) and turn right into the parking garage.
From
Alexandria,
VA and Points South of Washington
Take I-295 north toward Baltimore. I-295 becomes
the
Baltimore-Washington Pkwy (MD Route 295). Exit onto Riverdale Road west
toward Hyattsville/New Carrollton. Riverdale Road becomes East-West
Highway (MD Route 410). Turn right onto Adelphi Road. At fourth light,
turn right onto University Boulevard (MD Route 193) and take first
right into UMUC headquarters.
From
Washington D.C.
Take New Hampshire Avenue (Route 650) north toward College Park. Turn
right onto Route 193 East (University Boulevard). At the sixth
traffic light, cross Adelphi Road and turn right into the parking
garage.
PARKING
There is a parking garage adjacent to the Inn and Conference Center.
This
is effectively the only nearby parking. If you are staying at the
Center,
parking will be handled through the hotel front desk. If you are
driving
to the meeting, tell the attendant on exiting that you are with the
Astrophysics
Conference and show them your conference name tag.
Do NOT park in the open parking lots located to the rear
of
the
Center. These are University parking lots and you WILL be
ticketed.
