• 15 December 1999. Late submissions will not be accepted.

PAGE LIMITS

• Invited Papers: 10 pages
• Poster Papers: 4 pages

SUBMISSION

• First go over this check list to make sure that you have not missed anything:
  • Have you included an abstract (less than 200 words)?
  • Have you prepared your figures or illustrations at production size, if they will not be provided in encapsulated Postscript (EPS) format? Arrange the figures to be as close to the referring text as possible, preferably at the top or bottom of a page.
  • Have your followed the post-1990 ApJ style for your reference listing? References should be listed in their order of occurrence in the manuscript (not alphabetically), using the [#] notation in the body of the text. (Note to aipproc.sty users: the \cite{} command will produce the [#] numbering automatically, but you must manually arrange your final reference list in the proper numerical order.)
  • Have you stayed within the page limit? The page limit for invited papers is 10 pages and that for others is 4 pages.
  • Have you submitted your "Transfer of Copyright Agreement" to October Conference, Department of Astronomy, University of Maryland, College Park, MD 20742? If not, please get the form and fill it out and sign it and mail it in.
• Then E-mail a LaTeX and postscript copy of your manuscript along with any computer graphics in EPS format to: William.W.Zhang@gsfc.nasa.gov. Make clear in the email SUBJECT line the content of the file, i.e., LaTeX text, Encapsulated PS file, etc.
• Finally please also send one hard copy of your manuscript to: October Conference, Department of Astronomy, University of Maryland, College Park, MD 20742.

STYLE REQUIREMENTS

• You should use the AIP LaTeX style. Should the necessary style and example files have not be installed on your computer, you can either complain to your system manager or download them from here:

• The best way of using the AIP LaTeX macro file is to simply overwrite one of the example files with your own text.
