SUBMISSION
Please go through this check list:
You should prepare your file with AIP LaTeX macros. See the following
section for instructions on manuscript preparation.
You should include an abstract with 200 words or less.
Your figures should be in encapsulated postscript
format (EPS), or else be provided at production size.
Please try to arrange figures as close as possible to the referring
text. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR FIGURE LABELS ARE LARGE ENOUGH TO BE LEGIBLE
AFTER REDUCTION TO BOOK SIZE!
In AIP style, references are indicated by number and listed in
their order of occurrence in the text, rather than alphabetically.
(Note that you can use the latex \cite{} command to produce the [#]
numbering automatically, but that you must still manually arrange your
reference list in the proper numerical order. See the examples in the
template files given below.)
You must stay within your page limit: 10 pages for invited papers,
and 4 pages for poster papers.
Please mail your "Transfer of Copyright Agreement" to
October Conference, Department of Astronomy, University of Maryland,
College Park, MD 20742, USA. This form was given to you as part of your conference registration package. You can also print it from the AIP website (click ). Please do not forget to sign it before mailing.
Then email in separate mailings a latex and postscript copy of
your manuscript, and any figures in eps format to Chris Reynolds
(chris@astro.umd.edu). Indicate in the email SUBJECT line the name of
the file: paper.tex, fig1.eps, etc.
Finally, send one hard copy of your manuscript to:
October Conference, Department of Astronomy, University of Maryland,
College Park, MD 20742, USA.
Congratulations! You are done.
LATEX DOCUMENT PREPARATION
You may prepare your manuscript using either LaTeX-2e or the older
LaTeX-2.09, with the former being the preferred option. Please include
figures using either the epsf, psfig or includegraphics commands. If
you already have AIP macros installed on your system, you can simply
download the following template files and start writing!
If you do not have AIP macros installed, you can download the
following zipped files. When you unzip these files, they will unpack
all of the necessary AIP macros into your working directory.
