The flare is moving from left to right (north to south). Kent caught the beginning of the flare nicely but the exposure wasn't quite long enough to get the end (fade out). However, the image is nicely framed. The flare cut right through Cygnus (the Swan). You can see Deneb and the other stars marking the body.
