Redshift Multimedia survey of observational astronomy: generates horizontal or equatorial views of the sky from any time or place in the Solar system, including the planets and their moons, star fields, constellations, deep sky objects and others. Contains many features to track and view planets and other objects. CD required to run program, but can be run without installation. Recommended installation require 1.7 megabytes.   Software CSS 1112
Redshift 2 Multimedia survey of observational astronomy: generates horizontal or equatorial views of the sky from any time or place in the Solar system, including the planets and their moons, star fields, constellations, deep sky objects and others. Contains many features to track and view planets and other objects. CD required to run program, but can be run without installation. Recommended installation require 1.7 megabytes.   Software CSS 1112
Distant Suns Very similar to Redshift, this program contains night sky views of stars, planets, and galaxies. Easier to track movements of planets and Sun. Run from CD, optional installation requires eight megabytes.   Software CSS 1112
Cosmos:Voyage through the Universe Planetarium software that includes information on the constellations, a planetarium portion, a laboratory protion that uses multimedium to provide information about well known stars. Also includes legends and mythologies about the constellations.   Software CSS 1112

Stars & Stories This is an integrated curriculum unit set up for middle school aged students on trigonometry, distances, constellations, and myths. It is painfully low level for use with college students, however there are excellent graphics on parallax and cepheid variables that could be used in lectures if you turned down the sound and covered it with your own information. Can be installed through a more limited process if intending to run from CD.   Software CSS 1112
