Ignoring the fact that I'm still learning how to process images from the Canon D30 using Images Plus, you should clearly be able to see three things about this pair of images:

  1. how Mars was much more gibbous back in July
  2. the angular size of Mars (yes, the images were taken with the same setup and were cropped the same amount)
  3. the size of the South Polar Cap
