General Logistics & Info for the Open House

1. Parking is very limited at the Observatory. Handicap spaces are immediately in front of the lecture hall. Overflow parking is available in the Systems Admin lot (3300 Metzerott).
   
   
2. The lecture portion of the Open House is held whether it is clear or cloudy. The observing portion is weather permitting, please use your own best judgement. I will not be posting any type of go/no-go decisions for the observing portion. The only reasons Open House will be canceled is if there is a tornado, hurricane, or major snowstorm. We will post something on the homepage in those cases!
   
   
3. If you wish to attend, please arrive
   between 7:45 - 7:55pm for the 8pm show (winter hours! Nov-Apr) or
   between 8:45 - 8:55pm for the 9pm show (summer hours! May-Oct).
   Head directly to the lecture hall. Arriving at the stated times will not guarantee you a seat in the lecture -- we have a seating capacity of 75! We will try to get you in. Please do not show up earlier, or if you do, please wait in your car.
   
   
4. Misc.
   • Directions to the Observatory
   • No smoking, alcoholic beverages, or pets.
   • If we are observing, then we are outside... dress appropriately (fall evenings tend to get quite cool and winter nights are downright cold!!!).
