Chris Reynolds' research interests are in the astrophysics of black holes. Using data from the latest generation of X-ray observatories, his group has been searching for and studying signatures of relativistic motion/gravity in the X-ray spectra of active galactic nuclei and Galactic Black Hole Candidates. On the theoretical front, his group is modeling the large-scale environmental impact that AGN jets can have on their environment. Reynolds is currently advising the thesis research for Laura Brenneman, David Garofalo (UMCP-Physics), and John Vernaleo. He is also co-advising Barbara Mattson and Lisa Winter at the Goddard Space Flight Center.
