I recieved my D.Sc. from the University of Paris (Sorbonne) in 1957. Previously I have been an Associate Professor at Cornell University; a Professor at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in India ; Director of Astronomy at Univ of MD for seven years;Senior NRC Research Fellow at NASA-GSFC; U.S.Senior Scientist awardee of the Humboldt Foundation (Humboldt Prize).
