Thierry Lanz develops non-LTE model stellar atmospheres that he applies to multi-wavelength quantitative spectroscopic studies of a broad variety of stars.

He received his PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Geneva in 1987 and joined the University of Maryland in 1998.
