Sara Frederick is a second year graduate student. She currently works with Chris Reynolds on AGN variability using X-ray observations from XMM-Newton and NuSTAR. She completed a degree in Physics & Astronomy at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. As an undergrad she worked on a population synthesis of galactic millisecond pulsars, as well as a project determining the effects of precessing black hole spin on gravitational waveforms of binary black hole mergers. She has been a Teaching Assistant for the introductory Astronomy sequence ASTR120 and 121 for majors and is currently the graduate student leader of the Astronomy Gentleladies' Network.
