Sara Frederick is a first year graduate student. She currently works with Chris Reynolds on AGN black hole spin using X-ray observations from the European satellite XMM-Newton. She completed a degree in Physics & Astronomy at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. As an undergrad she worked on a population synthesis of galactic millisecond pulsars, as well as a project determining the effects of precessing black hole spin on gravitational waveforms of binary black hole mergers. She is currently a Teaching Assistant for the introductory Astronomy sequence ASTR120 and 121 for majors and the graduate student leader of the Astronomy Gentleladies' Network.
