I am a stellar spectroscopist. My research interests are in stellar structure and evolution, and Galactic chemical evolution.

I received my Ph.D. from the University of Texas in 1988. I have since held postdoctoral and research positions at the Institue for Astronomy - University of Hawaii, University of North Carolina and The Ohio State University. I am currently a research scientist and have been at the University of Maryland since 1996.
