Health Insurance

You have a chance to get health insurance as soon as you are employed by the University of Maryland. You do have to pay a small monthly insurance premium which varies between 18 and 25 dollars depending on which plan you choose. Email me if you are an incoming ASTRO person and I can put you in touch with the person to contact. I have had to remove the person's name and phone number from here because too many people who were browsing this page were calling her. While I am glad that this page is helpful, it is not the person's job to help every new person coming to the University. Please contact your Department or the University Health Center directly. For Astro people once you get here, you will get a booklet which describes the state's health insurance coverage in detail. In order to choose a health plan, talk to others in the department and find out what best fits you.
