I like calling myself an explorer. An important component of this is learning through travelling. If someone sponsers me to go places, I shall not rest. Having toured various parts of India and around the world, I am still hungry for more. Another thing that goes hand in hand with this is photography. I like my digicams as they generally allow me to capture the world the way I see it through my eyes, and are yet handy enough to allow me the freedom of movement in terrain that calls for adventure.

Apart from this, I used to be an avid reader of books. IIT Kanpur put brakes on my reading habits. I hope to pick up the tempo soon enough. Science fiction is my area, - Isaac Asimov and Michael Crichton being my favourites. Sometimes I indulge in cricket - playing and keeping statistics. A traditional hobby that I had during my childhood, which is now heavily neglected is stamp collecting. 15 albums containing more than 3000 stamps lay safe but unattended. Although not a hobby, I am able to solve the Rubic's cube, and had once participated in an official Cube Open to get some world rank after finishing in less than 2 minutes. Since then I have given up on speed cubing, but I still remain interested in maths and puzzles surrounding the cube.

I have a 3rd year degree in Fine Arts, and I like oil painting on canvas. Here are some of my works:

I can play the tabla too, but I don't have any credentials in music.

A yellow belt in Tae-kwon-do couldn't save me when I needed it in Australia. However, I believe I have developed fast responses, and also have a formidable stamina. Last year, I went for a high altitude trek trip in the Himalayas - Roopkund. This year, if all goes well, I have plans of going on an adventure trip in the Cordillera Blanca (part of the Andes).
