Before starting graduate school at the University of Maryland, College Park, I worked as a guide for the Nightly
Observing Program at Kitt Peak National Observatory (KPNO). I took this image of the binary star system Xi Boötis using a Cannon EOS 5D DSLR camera and the KPNO Visitor Center's 20 inch telescope with two 2X barlows. Click on Xi Boötis for more images.
While in graduate school, I organized and guided the Capella Constellation and Dinner Series, a series of dinner plus stargazing, binocular and telescope observing events at Capella, Washington, DC, a hotel in the Georgetown neighborhood.
In my spare time, I listen to music, cook, build furniture, play/watch soccer and basketball, and snowboard. I can still carry on a conversation in French, though my vocabulary has suffered as I haven't visited France in several years.
