"The Size Distribution of Planetesimals Interior to 1 AU" R. Barnes, T. Quinn, J. J. Lissauer, D. C. Richardson (Astrobiology Science Conference Summary, p. 223) We present simulations that examine collisional accretion amongst planetesimals in the terrestrial zone around a 1 M_Sun star. The planetesimals begin as 1 km bodies with a density of 3 g/cc. Specifically we examine the small (~ 10^{-3} AU square) patches of 10^5 particles inside 1 AU. The simulations presented here are the highest resolution representation of this phenomenon, and are therefore the best estimate to date of the initial planetesimal size distribution.
