Slide 92 of 304:
Godwit,Black-tailed01.jpg
Black-tailed Godwit. La Capelière, Camargue, 3/28/07. One of the shorebirds I was able to observe closely thanks to a well-placed hide. This (life) bird is distinguished from Bar-tailed Godwit (both have long legs and bills) by the solid black at the end of the tail, which is not readily visible in these photos. Like the other shorebirds around this time, this bird is transitioning to summer plumage.
