Slide 184 of 304:
Nuthatch,Corsican01.jpg
Corsican Nuthatch. Near Vizzani, Corsica, 2/8/07. One of the bird highlights of the trip, this endemic species was definitely on our wish list. It obliged by flying over to scold us when we climbed up a sunlit hill sporting the required mature Corsican pine in the mountains. Note the lack of red on the undersides, distinguishing this species from Eurasian Nuthatch (which isn't found on Corsica anyway).
