Common Sandpiper. Ste-Marguerite Island, 1/20/07. According to my field guide, Common Sandpiper is not expected here this time of year, but the only other possibility (which the characteristic white notch in the side, and the persistent tail bobbing) is vagrant Spotted Sandpiper from North America. And since I saw another one at the Var River, this possibility seems unlikely. So, a lifer it is!
