July 25, Monday to July 31, Saturday – AirVenture Air Show
AirVenture! Following are some of our more memorable highlights at this fabulous air show:
- On our way to the beautiful EAA Museum

- Visiting the Seaplane Base

Shopping for headsets (we chose Lightspeed Twenty 3Gs) and a GPS (we decided on a color Lowrance 2000), purchased at Aircraft Spruce & Specialty
- Flight in the Ford Trimotor with 7 others in our group, a trip back in time


Flying in the Ford Tri-Motor
- Volunteering at the 99s (International Women Pilots) tent

Volunteering with the Young Eagles, which
included driving around the flight line in the "Green Machine"
talking to pilots, giving "ground school" to Young Eagles,
and meeting 4 Canadian Young Eagles, all working towards their licenses

Visiting vendor booths in the 4 exhibit halls
Wandering around airplane exhibits--Warbirds, RVs, big aircraft, old aircraft (such as the two 1930s era replica Sikorsky S-38 amphibians)
