1. Problem 3.4.**I** For part b), calculate the ISM
temperature with the information given in the problem. How realistic
is the number that you get for the ISM temperature?

2. Problem 3.12.**E** Calculate Jupiter's equilibrium
temperature and compare with the result quoted in Table 4.2.

3. Problem 3.14.**I** You can treat the effects
separately as follows. Calculate dT, the maximum change in Earth's
average temperature for four effects: 1) reflected sunlight from the
full moon, 2) emitted IR from the full moon, 3) change in Earth's
position due to motion around the Earth-Moon barycenter, and 4) change
in Earth's position due to our planet's orbital eccentricity. For all
cases, your dTs should be relative to Earth on a circular orbit with
no Moon. Compare your dTs and discuss. As always, state any
approximations that you make.

4. Problem 4.13.**E** Compare your results to any
that you find in the book.

5. Problem 4.14.**I** The hint is a bit confusing.
