XEPHEM
What is Xephem?
- Xephem is an interactive astronomy program for X Windows
systems with Motif written by E.C. Downey. The program allows you
to view the positions of celestial objects on the sky graphically
as a function of time (ephem is short for ephemeris). Xephem
version 3.7.5 is currently installed on Astronomy Department machines.
How Do I Run Xephem?

To run xephem, login to an astronomy maching and open up a
windowing system. Then type which xephem at the
prompt in one of the windows to see if the command is available. If it
is, type xephem to run.
