Here is a tutorial to get you started using VAMPIRE.
Look here for more basics on how to use VAMPIRE.
VAMPIRE is a serial, distributed computing network created and run by Kayhan Gultekin, Zoe Leinhardt, and Kevin Walsh. It takes Astronomy department PCs that are otherwise idle and turns them into the second most powerful (albeit serial) cluster in the department. Update: As of March 22, 2005 VAMPIRE is the most powerful cluster in the department over the weekend or during school breaks (when desktops are idle nearly 100% of the time).
VAMPIRE is now running. There are currently 46 or so processors managed by Condor on the network.
CondorView--A java applet that allows for viewing user and machine statistics of VAMPIRE. Sometimes it even works.
Kayhan, Kevin, and Zoe have posted their ALTS talk. Check it out for more information on how to set up and run jobs on VAMPIRE.
