I am a member of the Deep Impact
Discovery Mission science team,
a Senior Research Scientist in the
Space Department, Johns Hopkins
Applied Physics Laboratory, and a Visiting Faculty Member in the
Astronomy Department at the
University of Maryland College Park
. My research
interests include planetary science (especially comets
and solar system
formation and evolution ), infrared, optical, and high energy
astronomy, and infrared, optical, x-ray, & gamma ray detectors. My
non-research interests include reading science fiction, hiking,
swimming, playing
ultimate frisbee
, travel, rock collecting, computers, gardening,
and raising a
cantankerous 15 year old, Naomi
. I'm a swell guy,
too, and fun at parties.
