Following the format of the file I found listing the changes in the ISTD standard syllabus, here are the changes made in the ISTD latin syllabus. The columns compare my copy of the old ISTD syllabus in the 1983 fifth edition of "The Revised Technique of Latin-American Dancing" and the new syllabus from the 1998-2000 equivalents, "Latin American Technique" parts 1-5 (rumba, cha cha, paso doble, samba, jive, respectively). Some old syllabus steps were not included in the 1983 book because professionals were not required to describe them in examinations; I've marked these with an asterisk in the old list. In general they have now been written into the new syllabus, sometimes as separate steps and sometimes as variations of other steps. The lists here contain only changes in the figures' names and/or placements as well as any additions and deletions of figures. Old syllabus figures that became developments of figures in the new syllabus are labeled as such, with a level note if not the same. A few figures I wasn't sure of how to list got "???" next to them. Hopefully I'll be able to clean up the file later, but at least the info is here now. Since the ordering of the figures differs in the two syllabi, I've chosen to list them in the order given in the new syllabus (or at least close to it).
