Comets are my scientific bread and butter. Comets are frozen left-overs from the beginning of our Solar System. By studying their composition and evolution, we can infer how the Solar System formed. I observe and model comets to determine their size, structure, and composition. To that end, I study comet dust with polarimetry, dust dynamics, and thermal emission spectra.

I also keep a list of known comet dust trails. Comet dust trails represent the largest dust grains ejected from comets. Up to millimeters in size, they create meteor showers when they collide with the Earth.
