CAVEATS on the big files:
  I've had some issues with CODECS on windows and mac with some of
these files. This surely is the result of me doing this on linux
(believe it or not, after iMovie on the mac failed doing anything like
this). So I guess you non-linux chaps will just have to download your
freely available codecs to view the big files. Only thing i can say here
is what my mac buddy said to me "hey, it works for me".
This video editing is new to me, so I may not quite have discovered
all the right options for Mac/Win.

If you're interested how I made this: the show was taped using TiVo, and
written to a standard DVD. I took the VOB file and treated it like an
MPEG-1 stream in VLC (and VLC is freely available on Mac and Win as
well). It also can  edit the file, which is how I made the MPG file. The
AVI file was made with MENCODER.
