11104 Glenn Brooke Ct Glenn Dale, MD 20769 301-805-8445The house is about 7-8 miles east of the UMCP campus, right off MD-193, but before you would cross MD-450
From 495 it can be tricky. The easiest, but slightly longer, is to take the Kenilworth Av. exit (#23) and make a left turn (going east) onto Greenbelt Rd. You can also take the Balto-Wash Pky exit (#22): first exit direction Baltimore, but once on 295N take the first exit onto Greenbelt Rd. Turn left onto Greenbelt Rd. The sign even says Glen Dale (spelled the wrong way).
Once on 193E, you pass Eleanor Roosevelt Highschool and Goddard Space Flight Center, both on the left, and keep on going east. Cross Good Luck Rd. and Rt 564 (Lanham Severn Rd) and you pass over the Amtrak train tracks as 193 now curves to the right (south). Continue through one more traffic light (Prospect Hill Rd), make the next not-so-obvious right turn onto Daisy Lane. Go through 1 stop sign, and make a right turn at the 2nd stop sign onto Glenn Dale Rd. Then make the 2nd right turn onto Glenn Brooke Ct (cul-de-sac). Our house is the 2nd house on the left, #11104.
Here is a png (PNG graphics) or PDF (needs Acrobat Reader) version of a map with some abbreviated directions.
For those travelling with public transportation:: Basically you will need to take "Metro" (the subway system in the DC area), take the Orange line to the (east) maryland endpoint, it's called New Carrollton. Both Union Station (on the red line) and (Reagan) National Airport (on the yellow line) connect to the orange line, so it it relatively easy to make it to New Carrollton. From either location it probably takes around 45 minutes to New Carrollton. One of us will then pick you up. In emergency, there is a bus from the station to near our house, but it's still a nice 1-2 mile walk. The B27 bus at the Rt.193 intersection is a little over 1 mile, and the B24/B25 bus at the Rt. 450/953 intersection is just under 2 miles (but a nice walk) See this map.
