IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (784) Pickeringia / UCAC4-470-046569 event on 2018 Mar 13, 07:31 UT Visible from USA, SE Canada Summary ------- On 2018 Mar 13 UT, the 89.7 km diameter asteroid (784) Pickeringia will occult a 12.3 mag star in the constellation Virgo for observers along a path across USA, SE Canada. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 1.17 mag to 12.98 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 7.8 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
