These are not proper etchings but, clearly, just from a test plate to judge the strength of the acid. Nevertheless, it shows how Claude could evoke a landscape with a few scribbled lines. Mannocci notes that the smudge in the upper left is likely Claude's fingerprint!
These two impressions are from the same plate; the sheet was then cut to make two prints. Here is an example of the full sheet, although this sheet has been trimmed closer to the images:
It is difficult to tell to which of Mannocci's three states these impressions correspond. Claude himself would not have printed more than a few, so these are almose surely later printings. Unfortunately, the distinguishing marks that Mannocci lists can only be seen in examples where the margins are much larger.
