Configuration Group Progress Report -- 28 June 98 ---------------------------------------------------- Steve, Debra, and I have worked together on the three actions items from the conference call of June 23. Progress has been made on all three: A) There is a memo on A-array configurations posted on the webpage. B) Configurations 2 and 3 in the A-array memo show the suggested absolute location for the star layout. C) A proposal outlining the "wildcard area" , or "reserve" pad options, for the EIS is now posted on the webpage. Steve would like to move quickly to final determination of all pad locations. Here is my current guess at our timeline: July 8-15: Steve and Mark H. do site surveying. They will make the final placement of the star layout. They will identify possible A-array remote pad locations based on the proposed locations and the realities of the terrain. July 15-22: Lee and Debra do modeling of pad locations measured above and look at alternative pad locations as necessary. July 22-30: Iterations on pad locations as necessary. July 31: Final station locations set for ground studies and EIS. Please read the posted memos and contribute your thoughts, reactions, objections, and comments. If anyone has ideas for alternative A-arrays or other alternatives, now is the time to workout the details of such proposals. The above items and progress on the site surveying will be discussed in the next phone conference: July 13, 11 am PST. cheers, Lee
