Department Expectations: Graduate Students

Weekly

• Put extra effort into being the best TA (and the best researcher) that you can be
• Attend all of your classes; put extra effort into doing as well as you can on all assignments. Read the book!
• On Colloquium Day, attend "Meet the Speaker"
• Attend Colloquium every Wednesday
• Attend other department seminars in your area of interest
• Volunteer for Graduate Committee work

Each Semester

• Fill out Course Evaluation Forms
• Encourage your students to fill out Course Evaluation Forms

Once a Year

• Help out at the Open House
• Teach one section of ASTR695 in your second year
• Help out at Maryland Day in the Spring
