The Astrophysics of Gravitational Wave Sources

Summer 2005 and 2006

The basics of gravitational radiation, and the properties of some possible sources. This sequence was one of four involved in the 2005 and 2006 summer schools in gravitational radiation run by the University of Texas at Brownsville and held on South Padre Island, TX. In 2005 the other instructors were Peter Saulson (instrumentation), Miguel Alcubierre (numerical relativity), and Curt Cutler (data analysis). In 2006, Joe Romano is giving a one-week tutorial on general relativity prior to the main school, as well as doing the data analysis section.
