CARMA Memoranda LaTeX Guide version 2003-May 29 Marc Pound The tarball contains 5 files: README.carma_memo This file carma_memo.sty CARMA Memorandum latex style file carma_memo_template.tex Template LaTex file from which you can create your memo carmalogo.ps PostScript CARMA Logo, used on cover page pslatex shell script for generating good fonts You will also need AASTEX installed on your system, at minimum the file aastex.cls from that distribution. The CARMA Memo style file is based on AASTEX and uses all the familiar AASTEX macros like \title, \author, \section, \plotone. 1. Copy carma_memo_template.tex to your memo file. 2. Edit the lines \carmamemo, check the latest CARMA Memo number on mmarray.org/memos and add 1. \almamemo, if appropriate \bimamemo, if appropriate \author \title \affil 3. Add or delete additional authors as necessary. 4. Insert your abstract text 5. Insert your Change Record table, e.g.: \ChangeRecordBegin \addrevision{1.0}{2003-Apr-01}{A. Author}{1-10}{This is a remark} \ChangeRecordEnd 6. Insert your memo text 7. Insert your tables and figures 8. Insert your references 9. Run 'pslatex yourfile.tex' 10. dvipdf yourfile.dvi will create your file.pdf with good fonts. If you don't have dvipdf on your system, ask Marc Pound for it. 11. Send ASCII abstract and PDF file to Marc Pound.
