Title: Tsys Calculation from Ambient Load and Sky Measurements

Abstract:

This intended to explain the use, measurement and calculation of system
temperatures for CARMA. Similar treatments have been carried out for
BIMA, OVRO and other radio observatories. Some of the basic background is
included to aid in understanding the definitions and calculations. This
memo has been done in MathCad so that rigorous math calculations can be
done and then tested and verified with real examples. All of the various
manipulation steps are included. Those interested in just the answers
should skip to the summary of required formulas at the end of the memo.
