Take exit 27 or 25 from I95/I495 (Washington Beltway) south onto US Rt. 1 towards College Park (coming from Baltimore/I95 going south, it will be called exit 27, if you are on the Beltway (495) going East or West, they are simply exit 25). Please be careful on any road approaching campus, the city of college park has now installed speed cameras to generate more revenues. Rt.1 most notably is only 30 mph. After about 1 mile going south on Rt. 1 (Baltimore Ave), take MD-193 West, a right lane exit just before the 193 overpass. You are on University Blvd now, going west into the sunset. It's a 4-line road with a grassy median. Go through one traffic light, make a U-turn at the next traffic light, the Arena (Terrapin Trail) Parking Garage will then be the first exit on your right hand side while you are going East again. Parking is free after 4pm on weekdays, and free on weekends. Use the pedestrian walkway/bridge to walk straight towards the gym. The North Gym is the huge building slightly on your left, CRC is a newer gym on your right. There is an entrance under the bridge connecting the two gyms. We are on the 2nd (top) floor of the North Gym, right above from where you entered the building from parking lot SS1. Parking on weekends is mostly free (but not friday night before 10pm). You can also enter campus proper and find parking on your own, but carefully obey the posted parking rules. Most meters on friday are enforced until 10pm, and parking rules are aggressively enforced. A comment for all you mapquest users: although the gym has a street address (Valley Drive, University of Maryland, College Park, MD 20742) mapquest does not know it. Besides, the description above is not something you cannot easily pull out of Mapquest. It's where computers still break down. Mapsonus.switchboard.com was able to find the road, but since it's split in two, it actually points to the wrong place. For GPS users, I have no clue, probably the same issue since we don't have proper street addressed and you really should come into the TTG garage. We also have a direct google link with satellite imagery to the gym, so you can't really get lost anymore :-) http://www.astro.umd.edu/~teuben/badminton/dcopen/directions.html WARNING: The city of college park, within which the university is located, is in the process to provide just about every access road to the university with portable speed cameras. Some of these are justified, I won't argue that, but others are clearly placed for revenue purposed. So please, look at those signs. Most are 30 or 35 mph.
