Post-Doctoral Associate
I am a proud Chicana born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, and an observational astrophysicist specializing in multi-wavelength observations of flares from M dwarf stars. As a first-generation college graduate, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2013. I was honored to receive the NASA OSTEM MUREP Harriett G. Jenkins Predoctoral Fellowship and was a student in the Fisk-Vanderbilt Master's-to-PhD Bridge Program. I earned my Master of Arts degree in Physics from Fisk University in 2017 and completed my PhD in Astrophysics in 2021 at Vanderbilt University, where I was advised by Dr. Keivan Stassun and mentored by Dr. Rodolfo Montez Jr. (Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics) and Dr. Padi Boyd (NASA Goddard Space Flight Center). In 2021, I became a Heising-Simons Foundation Astrophysics Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Maryland, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, and the Center for Research and Exploration in Space Science & Technology (CRESST II).
