Title: GRAD-MAP, AGN, and Equity and Inclusion in Astronomy

GRAD-MAP (Graduate Resources for Advancing Diversity with Maryland Astronomy and Physics) and AGN (Astronomy Gentleladies Network) are two initiatives founded and led by UMD graduate students which aim to increase diversity in astronomy and physics and promote equity and inclusion. We review the history and accomplishments of GRAD-MAP and AGN and discuss plans for the coming year.

The Astronomy Department's BANG! Seminar (Better Astronomy for the New Generation!) features speakers and discussions on issues of equity and inclusion, career paths, and soft skills for astronomers. Please contact co-leads Jaime Crouse, or Emeline Fromont,or also other organizers including Ell Bogat, Joe DeMartini, Jordan Ealy, Tad Komacek, Katya Leidig, Laura Vega, Stuart Vogel, or Kiana Whitfield with any questions or suggestions for speakers.
