I am currently studying star formation in a survey of small nearby galaxies. The sample was maped with the Berkeley-Illinois-Maryland Interferometer (BIMA) to trace CO intensity. I am working with Dr. Alberto Bolatto in finding and comparing H-alfa images with the CO maps. We are also looking at near and far ultraviolet images taken with Galex in order to trace star formation activity. This will aid in determining properties of a more accurate star formation law. |
