• Our Astronomy Major provides a strong foundation in astrophysics, observational techniques, and theoretical modeling.

As a student here, you'll have the chance to engage in hands-on research, using our own UMD Observatory or accessing a variety of other facilities. 

Students can join the AstroTerps community, a welcoming group for anyone excited about the cosmos that organizes events such as stargazing, outreach activities, and career workshops.
