Research in the Department of Astronomy covers a wide range of areas and is both observational and theoretical in nature. We maintain several cooperative agreements with NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, which allow our faculty and graduate students to collaborate on a wide variety of space-related projects. The department also has a direct stake in a number of facilities.
