How is arXiv moderated?

How is arXiv moderated?

Speaker: Prof. Chris Reynolds, UMD Astronomy

Abstract: Many physicists and astronomers use arXiv as their main source for keeping up with the scientific literature. However, arXiv is not peer-reviewed; it instead has a moderation process to try to limit submissions that are off topic, not scientific papers, etc. This process is not particularly transparent, so we hope this seminar will shed some light on it.
