From Shock-Bubbles to Rings: The Past Life of Odd Radio Circles

Abstract: Odd Radio Circles (ORCs) may preserve a fossil record of past AGN jet and shock activities if they are from the Shock-Bubble interactions. In this talk, I present three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) simulations showing how shock–bubble interactions can form coherent radio rings. I then turn to Monte Carlo estimates of the expected ORC abundance and detectability, testing whether shock–bubble interactions can account for the observed population in surveys like EMU. Finally, I will introduce ongoing work using a diffusion-model emulator and Bayesian simulation-based inference aiming to infer ORC physical properties directly from radio observations.
