Research Scientist

Lead Scientist, NICER's General Observer Facility

I am a member of UMD's research faculty, currently resident at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center through the CRESST II cooperative agreement. My work explores unidentified gamma-ray sources to discover new pulsars. I work with radio astronomers to characterize new pulsars and evaluate them for inclusion in global pulsar timing arrays. I am involved with the Fermi-LAT Collaboration, the NICER Science Team, the NuSTAR General Observer Facility, and NASA's LISA Project Science Office. In addition, I serve as press officer for the North American Nanohertz Observatory for Gravitational Waves (NANOGrav), and lead the Media Committee for the International Pulsar Timing Array (IPTA).
