I am an observational astronomer interested in the interplay between the galaxies and their gaseous environments. My primary research focus is understanding the role of stellar feedback, including galactic fountains and winds, in galaxies’ evolutionary trajectories. Using optical, ultraviolet, and X-ray spectroscopy, I study the thermal and kinematic properties of gas and dust in and around nearby, star-forming galaxies. I also work on developing science cases for next-generation X-ray microcalorimeter missions pertaining to stellar feedback. Before joining the University of Maryland and NASA/GSFC through CRESST II, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Chicago, where I worked on the Cosmic Ultraviolet Baryon Survey. I received my PhD from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2018, where I worked with Profs. Ellen Zweibel and Jay Gallagher on characterizing the dynamical states of gaseous, disk-halo interfaces in nearby galaxies.
