Juan Ignacio Martin de Blas

Post-Doctoral Associate

jmartind@umd.edu University Of Maryland College Park

I am a researcher in Earth Sciences with a focus on Geophysics‚ specifically Geomagnetism, Gravimetry, and Potential Field Analysis, as well as Geodesy and Geodynamics. I hold a MSc degree in Geophysics from the University of Granada (Spain) and a PhD degree in Geology-Geoscience from the University of Copenhagen (Denmark). My current research involves using fluxgate and scalar magnetometer data collected from planetary analog field sites to study the crustal magnetism of terrestrial planetary bodies. This work supports future efforts to detect and analyze geological features beneath the surfaces of Mars and the Moon by using magnetic field data.
