I study planets in the Solar System, planets around other stars (called exoplanets), and brown dwarfs (objects slightly too small to be stars). Through laboratory experiments & computer simulations, I investigate the potential clouds, hazes, and atmospheric chemistry of these objects. My group tries to figure out how these aerosols affect the overall atmosphere, change our observations of distant worlds, and impact physics and chemistry as these substellar objects evolve. Combined with laboratory and modeling efforts, I primarily use space-based data from facilities like Hubble and JWST to understand these distant worlds.
