I became a part of the Center for Research and Exploration in Space Science &Technology II (CRESST II) in early 2025. With the geological background focused on mineralogy and geochemistry, currently I work on the characterization of Mars analog materials -- specifically the poorly ordered weathering products on Mars surface. My main tools are X-ray and neutron scattering experiments that unravel the atomic structures of the materials and are usually conducted at national facilities, as well as transmission electron microscopy (TEM) imaging that provide microstructures of the materials. These information will be used to dictate the past diagenetic processes and alteration history on Mars.
